Who are your Target Audience?

So we get a lot of questions about marketing especially from small businesses owners that are looking to market their business. As a small business ourselves we understand that when you are a small business owner you wear many hats and often have to juggle the roles of being the owner, the manager, the seller, the accountant, the cleaner, the marketer- what don’t you do! It is so easy to let marketing get pushed to the back of the to-do list when you are so busy. So we have decided to start making short videos and blog posts about practical marketing tips you can use to get your business out there. After all the more time you invest in your marketing the more people you’re reaching which means more potential customers and sales. It is definitely something worth thinking about.


For our first video we decided to start with outlining the concept of having a ‘target audience’. This might sound technical but in essence it just means ‘who are your customers?’ This might seem like a silly question to ask but knowing who your audience are is of the utmost importance. When you know who your audience are you can specifically target your marketing efforts to cater for these people. This makes marketing so much easier because you know what they want to see and what appeals to them and so when you deliver this kind of content to your customers they are more likely to take an interest in your brand thus generating sales.
